WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Volleyball had an eight-game win streak come to a halt on Tuesday against Midwestern State after falling to the Mustangs 3-1.

The Bulldogs won the opening set 25-20 but could not seem to close out MSU late in sets two through four. The night featured a total of 16 lead changes and another 29 ties.

In the second set, the Mustangs scored three of the last four points to win it 25-23. In the third, four straight points upended the Dawgs in a 25-23 loss. Finally, in the last set, SWOSU had three set points before MSU eventually weathered them and found a way to earn the 29-27 win.

Three finished with double figure kills, led by Jenna Houk's season/career high 12 which included five in that first set. Hailey Smith added 11, and Lacy Mott had 10 – six of those in the first set.

Terez Chavez (23) and Cameron Turner (17) combined for 40 assists. Jada Permenter led the defense with 21 digs.

The Bulldogs finished with eight blocks but were outdone by the 11 from the visiting Mustangs. SWOSU hit .180 as a team, compared to .202 from Midwestern State.

SWOSU's 28 errors matched a season high.

The setback drops SWOSU's record to 13-7 heading into another Thursday/Friday slate at home against GAC foes Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist.
